EAC Leaders Convene for 4th Science, Technology and Innovation Conference in Kigali, Rwanda
At the 4th East African Community (EAC) Regional Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Conference in Kigali Rwanda, regional leaders, experts, and stakeholders gathered to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in building a resilient, inclusive, and innovative East Africa. Convened by the East African Science & Technology Commission (EASTECO) in collaboration with the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA), the conference featured high-level discussions, including a Ministerial Dialogue on strengthening leadership and policy coordination for responsible AI adoption and regional competitiveness. The event concluded with 16 youth and women-led enterprises receiving seed grants of up to $10,000 under the COYWA Programme, alongside access to incubation, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
