Manufacturing Sector Key to Expanding Kenya’s Regional Trade and Investment
Manufacturing remains a critical pillar in driving economic growth, industrialization, and job creation across East Africa. Honorable Beatrice Askul Moe today received a courtesy visit from the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), led by Chief Executive Officer Tobias Alando, where they held discussions on expanding Kenya’s export footprint within the EAC region and beyond under the Manufacturing Priority Agenda (MPA) 2026. With emerging investment opportunities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, and South Sudan, the sector is well-positioned for growth. The delegation commended the Government’s continued efforts in addressing Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs), noting progress achieved through recent Kenya-South Sudan and Kenya-Tanzania bilateral engagements. She encouraged KAM to actively leverage private sector forums and the regional Manufacturers Network to enhance competitiveness and sustain growth in an increasingly dynamic global market.
