Women Empowerment Drive and Relief Support Boost Livelihoods in Kang’atotha Ward
Empowering women plays a critical role in alleviating poverty at the household level, as they often serve as the primary source of income. Today, Honourable Beatrice Askul Moe presided over a women’s economic empowerment drive in Kang’atotha Ward, hosted by Turkana Central MP Hon. Emathe Namuar and attended by elected and opinion leaders. She commended residents of Turkana County for their strong participation in the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise, where the county emerged among the top in newly registered voters, and encouraged wananchi to take advantage of the ongoing mobile ID registration campaign (Usajili Mashinani) as well as Social Health Authority (SHA) registration to enhance access to essential services. The event, also attended by Senator James Lomenen, Turkana West MP Epuyo Nanok, Turkana North MP Ekwom Nabuin, Loima MP Hon. Dr. Protus Akujah, and grassroots leaders, further saw the distribution of emergency relief food to families affected by the recent drought.
